RACHEL ROY’S FASHION LINE IS OUT!

Sad news indeed. Just last month Rachel (Damon Dash babies mother) debuted her Fall 2014 collection, which marked the 10th year anniversary of her Rachel Roy designer line. The Jones Group, who currently owns 50% in the business is being sold to Sycamore Partners who had decided the collection “didn’t fit in” with the direction of the Jones Group line up.
Rachel’s line was currently being sold by retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue. Rachel is in the process of looking for another investor to keep her line going and will attempt to finance the project on her own until she finds one.
I wish Rachel the best, and I like her line so I hope she does find an investor fast to keep her in stores.

BALMAIN – Olivier Rousteing the Creative Force behind it All

Olivier Rousteing is the creative director for the BALMAIN brand. Seen on many celebs, namely Rihanna 😉 Olivier is 27 years young and doing it BIG! The French born fashion designer grew up in Bordeaux before moving to Paris to study at ESMOD (Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode). He graduated and went on to design for Roberto Cavalli in 2003. He was quickly promoted to creative director and in 2009 was hired by BALMAIN to design and later become Creative Director in 2011. Check out his work for the 2014 Fall-Winter womenswear show held today in Paris for fashion week:

She’s EVERYWHERE like I mentioned last week on my post about her. Both ladies are up for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar this year, and may the best woman win. I must say I’m team “Lupita” tho’ hehehe! Both ladies look amazing on the cover, and Im truly happy for them both.
Oh, and Miss Lupita also stole the show and was proclaimed “Best Dressed” at the BAFTA award show. She took her mother as her date to the award show. Look how stunning they look.
